At the end of the course, trainees will be able to:
- Understand the basics of hydraulic systems.
 - Understand how hydraulic components work.
 - Read a simple diagram.

Program
1. HY1 SAFETY: MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS ON SAFE (LOCKED-OUT) MACHINES / INSTALLATIONS
- Dismantling or reassembling components (cylinders – pressure limiters – pumps, etc.).
 - Replacement of sealing elements – Connection – Filters
 - Draining or filling the tank.

2. BASIC CONCEPTS OF MECHANICS AND HYDRAULICS

 - Differentiation between open and closed circuits.
 - Origin of pressure and flow – Relationship between pressure, force and flow – Speed: Distinction between force and speed problems.

3. PRINCIPLES OF COMPONENT CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION / SYMBOLISATION
- High-speed fixed-displacement pumps and motors: Gears – Vanes – Axial pistons.
 - Pressure devices and traditional applications: Load limitation on the generator and receiver sides – Retention of driving loads (balancing valves).
 - Flow meters and traditional applications: Cumulative movement – Movement priority – Speed adjustment.
 - Distribution: Progressive type open centre – Pressure spool and flow spool concept (Load-Sensing) -On/Off control.
 - Receivers: “Orbit” type slow-speed motors / cylinders.
 - Open-centre hydrostatic steering.
