1. BASIC CONCEPTS
- Voltage – Current – Resistance – Definitions – Units – Conductors – Insulators – Direct / Alternating current.
- -The effects of electric current and electromagnetism (induction).
- Ohm’s law.
- Serial / Parallel circuits.
2. MEASURING DEVICES
- Using the multimeter: Voltage function – Resistance – Continuity measurement – Current function – Current clamps.
- Diode testing.
3. OPERATION OF COMPONENTS AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SOME OF THEM ON A BOARD
- Function of basic electrical diagrams.
- Diodes: Main uses.
- Potentiometers and rheostats: Principles and set-ups.
- Protection mechanisms: Fuse and thermal circuit breaker.
- Receivers: Magnetic and thermal effect (lamp, heating resistor, relay, solenoid, starter, etc.).
- Battery and Alternator: Roles – Operation – Features – Maintenance – Precautions for use.
4. READING APPLICATION DIAGRAMS AND TROUBLESHOOTING
- Reading method, identification of symbols.
- Circuit identification: Load circuit – Starting – Auxiliaries.
- Fault-finding using the diagram.
5. PRACTICAL EXERCISE ON SIMULATOR
- Measurements and checks on circuits.
