Objectives

At the end of the course, trainees will be able to:

  • Understand the operation and adjustment of hydrostatic transmissions.
  • Put a hydrostatic drive into service.
  • Know how to interpret measurements.
  • Develop a troubleshooting methodology.

Program

1. HY2 SAFETY: INTERVENTIONS ON MACHINES / INSTALLATIONS THAT ARE NOT LOCKED OUT
  • Performance control – Adjustment – Sampling.
  • Sub-assembly exchange (Directional control valves – Hydraulic power unit, etc.).
  • Separation – Tagout.
2. PRINCIPLES OF COMPONENT CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION
  • Axial piston pumps and motors, fixed and variable displacement – Multi-function valves – Servocontrols – Electrohydraulic control.
  • Study of the different control modes on pumps and motors.
  • Technique for dismantling and reassembling components: Cleanliness – Tightening torques, etc.
3. STRUCTURE AND OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF CLOSED CIRCUITS
  • Booster circuit – Oil exchange circuit – Scavenging circuit – Power circuit – Speed control and effort limitation – Cooling – Towing function.
4. AUTOMOTIVE CONTROL
  • Fundamental characteristics.
  • Starting point – Anti-stall – Inching.
  • Electrohydraulic automotive control principle.
5. FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS OF TRANSMISSIONS
  • Identifying symbols – Reading diagrams – Analysing operating phases – Application diagrams for wheeled vehicles – Tracked vehicles, etc.
  • Traction control.
6. COMMISSIONING AND ADJUSTMENT ON POWER SIMULATORS OR MACHINES
  • Reading and interpreting pressure and flow rates.
  • Equipment visualisation and identification.
  • Setting up the adjustment procedure.
7. FILTRATION
  • Causes and sources of contamination.
  • Filter positioning (ISO 4413).
