1. DEFINITIONS AND BASIC CONCEPTS
- Mowing and brush-cutting
- Knowledge of the vegetation, the environment and the terrain.
- Soil type, bearing capacity, adhesion.
2. OVERVIEW OF DIFFERENT CUTTING EQUIPMENT
- Front mowers or shredders – Flails – Direction and speed of rotation – Cutting height.
- Dangers and protection.
3. SLOPE TRACTOR DEFINITION
- Lift fixed to the rear of the front axle.
- Low centre of gravity.
- Load transfer.
- Lateral offset of the front tool.
- Steering systems (2W, 4W + Crab).
- Tyre adaptation.
- Inflation.
- Mechanical and hydrostatic transmissions.
4. STAFF AND USER SAFETY
- Responsibilities.
- Gestures and postures.
- Appropriate clothing and personal protection.
- Signage.
- Rules for safe driving.
5. ENVIRONMENT
- Site survey (percentage of slope).
- Nature of the terrain – Soil – Obstacles.
- Weather conditions.

6. 1ST LEVEL CHECKS AND MAINTENANCE
- Analysis of manufacturers’ documents: User manual – Maintenance booklet – Follow-up sheets.
- Checking and displaying equipment in the workshop: Tractor / forwarder check – Levels – Tyre condition – Inflating / Balancing – Lighting – Tool carrier check – Relief systems – Steering system – Braking – Cutting tool check – Condition of mud flaps – Safety device.
- Maintenance: Awareness of the cost of investment and maintenance – Preventive maintenance – Lubrication – Cleaning – Wear parts – 1st level servicing.
7. GETTING STARTED
- Specificity of forwarder.
- Location of the main components.
- Adjusting the driving position.
- Fixings and settings.
- Reclining seat, seat belt.
- Transport and travel.
- Steering modes.
- Load shedding.
8. OPERATING DEMONSTRATION BY THE TRAINER

- Application: Rules to be observed on the slope.
- Driving exercises on equipment: Ditches – Embankments – Slopes – Passing obstacles – Turning on a slope.
- Mowing / Clearing undergrowth.
- Cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
