IFC TRITECH customer testimonial – Didier Rousselle, Equipment Purchasing Technician
98% of our customers are satisfied, as one of them can testify! Didier Roussel, Equipment Purchasing Technician with the Savoie department, tells us which IFC TRITECH training programmes have been selected to train his maintenance teams.
What types of machinery do you maintain?
I purchase all the rolling stock for the Savoie department. In terms of maintenance, we manage a lot of farm tractors, snow-clearing lorries, large snow-clearing equipment and snow blowers.
What type of maintenance is involved?
We carry out all types of maintenance on our machines, from the most basic, such as oil changes, to major work such as fitting engines and gearboxes, plus everything to do with fitting hydraulic equipment to systems. Then there’s the breakdown maintenance, which is carried out during the winter maintenance period from November to April.
How many people are needed to carry out this maintenance?
The Savoie department has 4 sites and 4 workshop sites: we have around forty mechanics.
What programme do you use to train your hydraulics teams?
In terms of hydraulics, we favour the three levels offered by IFC TRITECH.
Level 1 is the basic level, looking at the plans of a hydraulic system, because not all our mechanics are trained in hydraulics to begin with, so we prefer them to gain the first level initially.
Then there’s level 2, which is a bit more application-oriented and takes place at IFC TRITECH. For a week, they go out on the site and discover a little more through practical work. Then there’s level 3, which is more about troubleshooting and diagnostics on hydraulic systems.
What about training in electrical systems?
Not all our staff will be trained in the electrical system. We have teams that are more into “manual and practical” maintenance and others that are more into technical and technical expertise. The teams specialising in the technical side of the business go to IFC TRITECH to read electrical diagrams. For a week, we train them to develop their technical skills. We try to train the teams as much as possible so that they can be independent in terms of maintenance.
Where do you run your training courses?
The Level 1, 2 and 3 hydraulic training courses are carried out on the IFC TRITECH site, and they last a week each. At the IFC TRITECH site, they have equipment that is adapted to staff training, so it’s much more practical. It’s the same for electrical troubleshooting through diagram reading, but it’s done for a week on the IFC TRITECH premises, because there is more availability within the company itself.
Then, at our site in the Savoie department, a staff member from IFC TRITECH visits us to carry out diagnostics on the TEXA diagnostic case. Our teams come to Chambéry. The IFC TRITECH trainer also travels to Chambéry. We have a training room that is suitable for training our teams, and this also allows us to have the diagnostic case on site with our machinery and equipment.
